The ‘Extraordinary Leek Embroidery Society is a very popular exhibition. it is pulling in the crowds as already over two thousand visitors have seem the beautiful exhibits at the NIcholson Museum and Art Gallery in Leek. People have come from all over the world. on the first day alone visitors came from Australia, India and Merseyside and the numbers continue to grow.
Make sure you don’t miss this event which is part of the Leek Festival of Textiles. The festival, which runs until 14th September, has a new exhibition of contemporary textiles by established artists in the Foxlowe art centre, right in the middle of the historic market town of Leek. There are also textile workshops, talks and walks and a fascinating church trail with its own displays of historic church textiles, so there is something for everyone.
